Grand Canyon National Park

On March 22nd, 2006 we left our hotel with Five inches of snow on the Ground and temperatures in the 30’s in Williams Arizona the heavy equipment was hard at work clearing the roads of snow. As we drove to the Grand Canyon the sun was starting to Warm the road and the snow was starting to melt. It looked like the snow storm had moved on in the night and the weather was going to be nice for our visit to the Grand Canyon. When we first approached the south rim of the Grand Canyon we were disappointed to find the canyon filled to the top with clouds.

When we got to the Visitor Center we talk to a Park Ranger and he explained that the recent cold front had swept over the canyon sealing in the warm air and clouds. The Ranger also told us that this only happened every three years or so and would clear. As we traveled around the clouds slowly climbed out of the canyon and started to dissipate. Debbie and I decided to take a lunch break and found the park cafeteria. We had a nice lunch at a reasonable price and took time to plan our next move. We decided to drive out to Yaki Point. When we arriver we were delighted to see that the clouds were leaving and whole canyon was visible. We were able to spot the phantom ranch and soak in the Grand Canyon in all its Beauty.
